Quality Engineer (New Model)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of the manufacture of parts to ensure that engineering documentation is consistent with manufacturing methods/processes.
  • Creation of Quality Plan and Schedule
  • Generate PPH/ Kakotora.  Review with MP and AEG project team.
  • Creation of FMEA and control plan (PQCT) documentation to ensure processes and procedures are traceable to documented standards.
  • Creation of Inspection Data sheets, Weld Reference sheets, LNDD’s, Start up Sheets, QC check sheets, Gap Analysis Sheets, Jig and Spatter maps.
  • Complete Minimum Process Requirements and confirm MPR’s are carried over into processes.
  • Complete PAC-V document.
  • Develop test methods and procedures to support part validation efforts.
  • Develop and order Inspection Fixtures, gages and tools needed for part confirmations. 
  • Maintain test equipment to standards.
  • Maintain on time document submissions to supplier.
  • Generate test reports from validation testing using statistical process control (SPC) methods.
  • Use Quality Problem solving tools for root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Visit customers or suppliers as needed.      Maintain good working relationship between suppliers and FPA. 
  • Other duties as required.
  • Communicate directly with the customer.
  • Present information during evaluations and review

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in engineering/technical field.
  • 1-2 years experience in manufacturing/quality.
  • Welding, metal forming, and assembly process experience.
  • Thoroughly versed in use of array of testing equipment.
  • Understanding of ISO9001, IATF16949, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, Quality problem solving tools, and APQP.
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing a plus.
  • Computer knowledge and experience.
  • Follow all safety requirements of the company – PPE, (hat, glasses, steel-toed boots, uniform, hearing protection, gloves, weld sleeves) safe job behaviors, etc.
  • Ability to interpret blue prints/ drawings.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision and participate in team activities. 
  • Knowledge of Catia and /or Auto CAD preferred but not required. 

Work Environment:

  • Office and plant environment.
  • May be exposed to dust, odors, noise, smoke, etc.
  • Lifting necessary based on project. 
  • Manually assist with event part making. 
  • Travel required based on project needs.
